About the Department of of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics
The Department of Orthodontics & Dentofacial Orthopedics of Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College & Hospital was established in 2000.
The department offers courses like BDS, MDS, PhD in Orthodontics, & Diploma in Dental mechanics
The department caters to 100 BDS students, 6 MDS students, 10 Dental Mechanics students every year.
The department has highly qualified, experienced and dedicated teaching faculty as well as supporting staff.
The department is one of a kind with state of the art Digital Room fully equipped by an advanced 3SHAPE Trios 3 intraoral scanner, Orthoanalyzer Aligner treatment planning software and Phrozen 3D printer.
The department has its own In-house Aligner system - “DPU Align.”
The department has Dolphin 3D surgical treatment planning software & Nemoceph software.
The department has par excelled in treatment planning with the virtue of 2D & 3D software for planning, monitoring and execution with the help of various treatment modalities ensuring comprehensive and effective services for our patients.
The department has a well equipped photographic room.
We also have departmental library with latest reference books and journals.
Department is conducting a value added certified course for interns on “Business of Dentistry”.
