Since its inception in 2000, Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College and Hospital has maintained its quality and excellence. Recognized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, Dental Council of India, the college has grown to become one of the best equipped and comprehensive academic set up in dentistry in the country. In fact, the growth of the college and hospital lies in the 360-degree outlook, which covers all four areas of deliverables- Education, Technological advances, Research and Patient care.
This has lead to overall 3rd rank in the in the Dental category by the National Institutional Ranking framework (NIRF) as announced by Ministry of Education, Government of India. Since, 2020 our institute has been consistently ranked in one of the top 3 colleges in India.

Every year, dental college trains about 100 students for BDS, 49 students for MDS program, Ph.D. program in total 9 specialties. Other programs include fellowship program in advanced course in Implantology, Short-term Fellowship in Implant Dentistry (Modules DPU-DACE University of Buffalo), and Fellowship in Contemporary Endodontics.
