Atraumatic Restorative Treatment

Dr. D Y Patil Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Pune has organized a two-day workshop on Atraumatic Restorative Treatment Workshop.

Present on the inaugural session of the two day workshop were Dr. Dibyendu Mazumder, President of the Dental Council of India ( DCI) and Chief Guest of the event and Guest of honour- Sabyasachi Saha, Secretary, Dental Council of India ( DCI), Dr. Rahul J Hegde, Member Dental Council Of India, Dr Prathip Phantumvanit, Dean – Faculty of Dentistry from Thammasat University, Thailand, Dr. P D Patil, Chancellor, DPU, Dr. N J Pawar, Vice Chancellor,DPU, Dr. Smita Jadhav, Trustee/ Executive Director, DPU, Dr. Yashraj Patil, Treasurer, DPU, Dr. D. Gopalakrishnan, Dean of the Dental College and a host of luminaries.

At the session, the MOU between the two Universities- DPU and Thammasat University for the Medical College as well as the Dental College was renewed.

In 2013, it was Dr. Prathip Phantumvanit who had initiated the MOU between the two Universities first.

Dr.Prathip Phantumvanit spoke about the new technique Atraumatic Restorative Treatment (ART) in public dentistry. The new technology, ART does not need electricity. He also conveyed that the equipment is portable and can be easily assembled and cost less than conventional amalgam restoration. Dr.Prathip Phantumvanit trained faculty and students of the Dental College about ART over period of two days on 27th and 28th June, 2019.
