Training and Placement Cell Activities

Dr. D Y Patil Dental College and Hospital offers placement opportunities to BDS, MDS and Dental Mechanics students at the graduates, postgraduates and diploma levels. The institute's strong student-driven culture and structured academic rigour model have ensured the students' excellence, thereby, securing them premium roles across top organizations and dental clinics despite the odds of the pandemic. The institute steered through the challenging times by adapting to the changing needs and modes of recruitment.

The primary objectives of placement activities is :

• To promote and create awareness about career advancement and placement options available to students after the course.
• To conduct activities that will help the students to get exposure to the current trends of the dentistry by way of knowledge, training, internship and placement.
• To continuously upgrade the knowledge of students to make them abreast with recent trends of dentistry through lectures, seminars, workshops etc.
• To guide the students for preparation of various competitive exams like PG-NEET for MDS course admission etc.
• To assist students to develop/clarify their academic and career interests, and their short and long-term goals through individual counseling and group sessions.
• To inform students about the available job opportunities in the government sectors and off campus drives and to arrange motivational talks.

INNOVATIVE ACTIONS : Dr. D. Y. Patil Dental College and Hospital, Pimpri, Pune extensively uses social media and virtual world to reach out to the students. The college has created faces in various social media pages like Facebook, Instagram and Whatsap for exchange of information for vacancies in dental clinics and also by posting curriculum-vitae of interested candidates.

Dr. D Y Patil Dental College and Hospital, Pimpri, Pune have facilitated sighting of fresh and promising human resources for the dental fraternity and places an active role in training and guiding the dental students of the institution towards competitive exams for higher education and placement in dental fraternity. The college has organized different activities to strengthen the capacity of young talents towards competitive exams, to raise the confidence to meet the real-life challenges, to enhance the employability and to facilitate employment opportunities for the students enrolled in the institution.

Career Advancement (Training Guidance activities)

After the completion of the course, students get career opportunities in the hospitals, organizations, dental labs, dental clinics and at dental colleges. After graduation average 33 percent of students seek higher education option through various competitive exams. Among remaining graduates average 70 percent students open dental clinic and 30 percent students gets placed in dental clinics, hospitals or other organizations. After post graduation average 70 percent students open dental clinic and 30 percent students gets placed in dental clinics, hospitals or other organizations. After Diploma in Dental Mechanics average 70 percent students open own dental lab and 30 percent students gets placed in other dental labs or other organizations. Some of our students have been offered roles in some of the most elite dental clinics in the country and most of them are running successful dental practice.
