I am delighted to connect with you all through the Dental Annual Magazine “Impressions” and to share some of my thoughts. This publication, enriched by diverse contributions, offers a valuable platform for students to showcase their hidden talents in a meaningful and impactful way. I firmly believe that education not only equips us with knowledge and skills but also shapes our attitudes and instills core values. It is essential that we strive to apply at least a part of what we learn in our daily lives.
Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pimpri, Pune (DPU), is committed to fulfilling the objectives of inculcating values and achieving intellectual excellence. We offer a wide range of professional programs aimed at the holistic development of youth in a healthy educational environment. As a result, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune has been accredited (3rd Cycle) by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.64 on a four-point scale at ‘A++’ Grade. Under NIRF Rankings 2024, DPU has been ranked 5th in the Dental Category, 11th in the Medical Category, and 44th in the University Category in India. All the four hospitals of DPU have been accredited by the NABH. The Molecular Diagnostic Lab and all Hospitals Clinical Labs have been accredited by NABL. Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune has been ranked in the 301–400 band in the Times Higher Education Impact Rankings 2025, the 1001–1200 band in the World University Rankings 2025, and the 501–600 band in the Asia University Rankings 2025.
At DPU, we are committed to equipping our students with cutting-edge knowledge and skills with state-of-the-art technologies. As part of our ambitious plans to upgrade laboratories and research facilities, we have established a GMP-certified and FDA-approved Regenerative Medicine Laboratory. This facility is poised to become a nodal reference center for dental research across India. It will serve as a platform for the in vitro screening of drugs, pharmaceuticals, and dental materials, paving the way for innovative research. I am confident that this initiative will usher in a new era for medical and dental professionals, enabling them to enhance their skills and explore novel therapeutic applications of stem cells. Additionally, the banking of oral epithelial cells from oral cancer patients will support the biobanking of this valuable biological material, further advancing research in the field.

It is with heartfelt gratitude that I pen down my thoughts as the General Secretary of the Students’ Council 2025–2026, SATYUG. This year has been a remarkable journey—filled with learning, unforgettable memories, and milestones that will always be a part of our institution’s legacy.
When this closely knit council was formed, we were a group of enthusiastic and diverse individuals with a shared vision. The path wasn’t always easy—we faced challenges and responsibilities—but with perseverance, teamwork, and purpose, we made each event a success.
From the Council Induction, Sports Week, Cultural Fest, Talent Exposition, Award Ceremony, social awareness camps, and Convocation to our grand Annual Day—each event reflected our unity, dedication, and the vibrant spirit of the DPU family.
This role has been a journey of growth. The support, respect, and encouragement from students and faculty helped me become a more confident and capable version of myself.

What made this year different was the absolute freedom and trust our institution placed in us to pursue whatever ideas we deemed right.
Our tenure witnessed a vibrant spectrum of events that enriched campus life — from the esteemed Council inauguration “SATYUG 2025-26” to Women’s Day celebrations; from hosting the annual Sports Week “Ranbhoomi, ” and Talent Week “Rangrez, ” to the cultural fest “Aura, ” Convocation ceremony, Award Distribution ceremony, Annual Gathering, academic seminars, and awareness drives. This year’s Council was committed to a marathon of events—each outshining the last—sparked by enthusiastic participation from the Council and our dedicated volunteers.
One of our key focuses this year was student engagement and inclusion. We actively involved all departments in co-hosting and promoting events at every level, highlighting the Council’s versatility. What truly set this year’s Council apart was our commitment to innovation and transparency. Students emerged as leaders, balancing academics with co-curricular activities. We strove to bridge gaps and cultivate a culture of openness, empowerment, and shared responsibility. Together, we built a space that feels like family.
