Extension and Outreach Activities

Department of Prosthodontics celebrated “Prosthodontics Day” on 22^nd Jan., 2019. A skit was performed by prostho PG Students spreading awareness and importance of dental treatment and role of Prosthodontists .
World Prosthodontics day was celebrated on 22^st Jan 2020 . The Program was comprised of free complete denture fabrication for the first 20 patients registered on 22^nd Jan 2020
The Dept. of Prosthodontics had organized following events to celebrate “National Prosthodontics Day” on 23rd January 2023.
- a) First year BDS students performed short skits to educate the patients regarding various treatment options in Prosthodontics. These skits were performed both in Hindi and Marathi language.
- b) Interns, PG students and faculty members participated in Pictionary competition.
- c) A bilingual information pamphlet on diet were distributed to all patients attending department OPD.
The Dept. of Prosthodontics had organized a CDE program in collaboration with IQAC on 9th February 2023 for Dental Mechanics students of the institute.
The Guest speaker for this program was CDT.Shivesh Thakur GC India and demonstration and hands-on on Ceramic Layering Techniques . He enumerated in detail about fundamental properties and materials science for GC Proceed MC and Zr Ceramics, Demonstartion and hands-on on GC ProceedMC and Zr Ceramics, Colour and shade games with IQ LP MF Lustre Stains ans Glaze,Latest development in dental laboratory technologies.

Dr. Amit Jagtap HOD of Department of Prosthodontics and crown and bridge,Dr.Gopalakrishnan Dean ,Dr.Smita Jadhav Trustee were Patrons for this Program.
The Dept. of Prosthodontics had organized a Inter-college Collaborative Clinical Case Discussion Program in collaboration with IQAC and Sharad Pawar Dental College & Hospital, Wardha on 21 st January 2023 for all faculty members & PG students of the institute.The topic of this collaborative discussion was “Expanding the Horizons in Cranio-Maxillofacial Rehabilitation: A step towards Digitalization.” Dr. Zarqa Khan, PG student from Dept. of Prosthodontics, DYPDCH, presented a case of left maxillary resection due to mucoepidermoid carcinoma which was rehabilitated using maxillary obturator.This program encouraged the discussion of various treatment options available for treating the maxillofacial defects.
